Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

My office address is 1750 Sun Peak Drive, Park City, UT 84098, located in the same building as the Keller Williams Realty office off 224. I can provide specifical details for how to find my office if we choose to schedule an in-person session!

Do you offer remote sessions?

I do! I provide both in-person and remote sessions. The availability of each is dependent on the day.

Do you accept insurance?

While I am not paneled with any insurance companies, I do provide monthly Superbills. A Superbill is an itemized list of all services provided each month that you can submit to your insurance company for Out-of-Network Provider reimbursement. Please contact your insurance company to see if they offer this type of reimbursement.

How much do sessions cost?

My session rate for individual therapy is $175 per 50 minutes.

I do offer sliding scale option for those who qualify. These slots are limited.

What is a sliding scale?

A sliding scale is a tool used to allow access to therapy for those who are unable to afford therapy at the set rate. To be clear, the sliding scale is not based on what people think therapy should cost; instead it is used to determine the rate that individuals are able to afford sustainably.

I do offer sliding scale to those for whom it is needed. Please know that these spots are limited and require an application.

Do I qualify for sliding scale?

I am a huge believer in being totally transparent when it comes to finances, so let's get into it!

This is a very important question to consider, for it often brings up the dilemma of what you may feel therapy should cost versus what you are truly able to afford.

Per Alexis J. Cunningfolk's "Green Bottle" model, it's a question of the difference between sacrifice and hardship. If paying full price for therapy requires some financial sacrifice, you likely do not qualify for sliding scale; however, if paying full price causes true financial hardship and prevents you from accessing basic human needs and resources, then you absolutely should apply.

If the answer to this question is not immediately clear, please read through the following Green Bottle model criteria to help determine whether you qualify for sliding scale:

Do Not Qualify for Sliding Scale Application:

  • I am comfortably able to meet all of my basic needs
  • I may have some debt but it does not prohibit attainment of basic needs
  • I own my home or property OR I rent a higher-end property
  • I own or lease a car
  • I am employed or do not need to work to meet my needs
  • I have regular access to health care
  • I have access to financial savings
  • I have an expendable income
  • I can always buy new items
  • I can afford an annual vacation or take time off

Do Qualify for Sliding Scale Application:

  • I frequently stress about meeting basic needs & don’t always achieve them
  • My debt sometimes prohibits me from meeting my basic needs
  • I rent lower-end properties or have unstable housing
  • I don't have a car and/or have limited access to a car but I am not always able to afford gas
  • I am un-/underemployed
  • I qualify for govt assistance (food stamps & health care)
  • I have no access to savings
  • I cannot afford vacations
  • I have no expendable income

What is your cancellation policy?

In order to avoid being charged the full session rate, I ask that all clients cancel 24 hours before the start of the session.

How do I schedule/change/cancel appointments?

If you are not yet a client, and would like to schedule an initial session, you can do so through the Appointments page. Typically the best way to get ahold of me is through the "Request an Appointment" form or through my email AmandaHoughLCSW@gmail.com.

If you are currently a client, you can manage your sessions through your Simple Practice client portal. I will be informed of any scheduling changes on my end, and have the option to either confirm or reject any new session requests. If I cannot confirm the session for any reason, I will reach out directly to find a time that works!
